After Tucker was born, Kade's parents stayed with us for a week. Then I had to go solo for about a week before Kade's break from school between semesters. But that wasn't awful, because he was taking finals and wasn't gone as much as he would've been during regular class times. So the whole parenting three kids thing didn't even seem that bad!
But now Kade is back in school, and the two older kids have conspired against me, and seem to be continually coming up with all kinds of creative ways to make my life harder. For example:
- While Tucker is being good, they fight like prison inmates. But while Tucker is screaming, they play uncannily well together. Therefore, I never really get anything done.
- Tucker sleeps his longest stretch between 10pm and 2am. So naturally that's when either Jonah has his night terrors or Millie gets out of bed, gets a box full of toys and dumps them all over Jonah while he's falling asleep. She has since been demoted back to her crib.
- While I'm making dinner, using the bathroom, switching the laundry over or otherwise occupied, Millie takes the chance to smear bananas and chewed up cheese sticks all over the couch cushions.
